Chapel

Join us on the 8th December at 1030am for our Christmas Carol Service

Services at Mount Pisgah are held on the second Sunday of the month at 1030am (unless otherwise stated), supported by Wholeness Ministries.  Dates and timings are advertised on the board outside of the chapel.  Services are conducted in a traditional style with prayer, organ led worship and teaching.  Tea and Coffee is served after as a chance to meet each other and share.  Building relationship is a strong element of the faith community at Mount Pisgah, no matter what your age we are all called to grow together and grow our relationship with Jesus to be able to continue His ministry that believers are called to.  Each time we meet we are to be built up in our faith, becoming more like Christ and equipped to share our faith.  We are currently going through the Sermon on the Mount verse by verse.

Keep an eye out for future events including family events and songs of praises.  You would be very welcome to join us on a Sunday or at one of our events.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

GOD

There is one true God who exists as the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

He is eternal and creator of all the earth (Psalm 90:2; Isaiah 40:28, Romans 16:26)

SIN

All are born into sin, which is inherited from Adam (Romans 3:23 and 5:12)

Sin separates us from God (Isaiah 59:2)

Sin brings death (Romans 6:23)

THE CROSS

Jesus went to the cross to bear our sins (1 Peter 2:24)

Through His death on the cross we are redeemed (Galatians 3:13)

JESUS

Jesus is Gods son (John 3:16)

Jesus is fully God and fully man (Matthew 1:23 and John 1:1)

Jesus is the Saviour of the world (1 John 4:14)

Jesus was born of a virgin (Matthew 1:18-25 and Luke 1:26-35)

Jesus is sat at the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19; Romans 8:34 and Hebrews 1:3)

Jesus will return (John 14:1-3; Acts 1:11 and Hebrews 9:28)

Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords (Revelation 17:4 and 19:16)

SALVATION

Salvation is only found in Jesus (John 14:6; Acts 4:12 and Hebrews 7:26-27)

Salvation is a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 1:16 and 6:23)

HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit gives new birth (John 3:3-8)

The Holy Spirit is our helper (John 14:26 and 16:7)

The Holy Spirit convicts (John 16:8-11)

The Holy Spirt gives gifts (1 Corinthians 12:8-9; Ephesians 4:7-13 and Romans 12:6-8)

THE BIBLE

Gods word is written by God (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Gods word is the authority for walking a life in Christ (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Timothy 4:2)

The Gospel has the power to save (Romans 1:16)

THE CHURCH

Jesus builds His Church (Matthew 16:18; 1 Corinthians 3:6)

Jesus is the Cornerstone (Psalm 118:22; 1 Corinthians 3:11 and Ephesians 2:20-22)

The Church is a body of believers where Jesus is the head (Acts 2; Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:13-27)

The Church is to gather together to pray, worship, be encouraged, taught and equipped (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12; Matthew 18:19-20; Acts 2: 42-47; Hebrews 10:25; 1 Corinthians 14:12; Ephesians 4:11-13 and 1 Thessalonians 5:11)

THE LORD’S SUPPER

Jesus instructed His followers to do as He did at ‘The Last Supper’ in remembrance of Him (1 Corinthians 11:24)

The bread is a symbolic reminder of Christs body broken on the cross (Matthew 26:26; Mark 14:22; 1 Corinthians 11:24)

The Cup of wine is a symbolic reminder for the New Covenant (Matthew 26:25-26; Mark 14:23-24; 1 Corinthians 11:25)

The act of remembrance is to be taken by followers of Jesus and before taking it each believer should examine their behaviour (1 Corinthians 11:27-32)

As believers we are to walk in the calling that Jesus sets before us, that of the Great Commission, to preach the Gospel, make disciples, baptise and lay hands on the sick (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-18)

As a ministry we believe in the equipping and sending out of believers to do the work of the Kingdom in the power of the Spirit, knowing their true identity (2 Timothy 3:17; Ephesians 4:11-16; Romans 8:16: Isaiah 61:1-4)
